In 20 years, when you look back at your Wedding Day portraits, or the images of your Sweet Newborn Baby thats now leaving for college, you won't remember the wait, you will only be looking at these beautiful images to go along with your memories?
HOW IT WORKS...
In an effort to help keep all of my clients updated on the status of their session, I keep a list of all the current sessions in queue to edit, as well as each session's status. This list is updated atleast once a week, and will help you track your session from beginning to end, I continue to update the status of your session, all the way from the session date until it is completely finished. There are a couple stages your session will go through during the editing process.
SESSION STATUSES...
- SESSION COMPLETE: This is the first stage, once your session has taken place, your images have been uploaded to my computer, saved, and backed up on multiple external hard-drives. Your images are not touched (altered in any way), until they have been uploaded, saved, and backed up in multiple digital locations. This prevents any possible image loss or corruption of files.
- SNEAK PEEK POSTED: Within one week of your session, one image will be fully edited and your "Sneak Peek" will be posted online at SLP Facebook (your sneak peek can be sent via DropBox, if you prefer it not be posted on social media). Mini Sessions, Bridal Portraits, Boudoir Sessions, and other similar sessions will not receive a Sneak Peek.
- ONLINE PROOFING GALLERY POSTED: Once your images have been "proofed", they will be uploaded to a password-protected Online Proofing Gallery. These images are not edited, they have had cropping/leveling, basic lighting adjustments, and color correction only. There will be a couple fully edited images included in your proofing gallery, typically one image from each "setup" to give you a good representation of how all your images can look once finalized. Your Online Proofing Gallery will be active for 30 days for you to view the proof images, make your image and product selections, and complete your Final Product Purchase Order. If you need your gallery open for a longer period of time, or need to reactivate an expired gallery, there is a $50 reactivation/extension fee. Once paid the Online Gallery will be available for an additional 30 days.
- ORDER PLACED | IMAGES ADDED TO EDITING WAIT LIST: Once you have finished making your selections and placed your Order, your selected images will be added to my Editing List and edited in line with other Client's Orders placed ahead of yours. Please refer to your retainer invoice or email communication for the estimated turnaround timeframe for your session. This timeframe starts once you place your Order from your Online Proofing Gallery. For the quickest turnaround timeframe, be sure to place your order in a timely manner, delays in placing your order can result in longer editing wait times.
- IMAGE PROCESSING: Once your Order has reached the top of my Editing List, your selected images will be edited/finalized. Each of your images will be finalized based on your specific order. Digital Files (if purchased) will be delivered on a USB Drive and include 2 copies of each image purchased: a High-Resolution copy (for print use) and a Low-Resolution/Web-Sized copy (for using online/social media use). Images selected for Prints, Products, and Wall Art (if purchased) will be finalized based on size and product specific requirements based on what you chose to purchase. If your Order contains any Prints/Products, those items will be ordered once images have been finalized.
- PRINT/PRODUCT ORDER PROCESSING (if your order contains any Prints/Products): Once your images have been finalized, your Print/Product Order will be placed with the Print-Lab and then will be awaiting Production/Delivery. All Print/Product Orders are shipped directly to Sara Lassiter Photography, and will be checked for color, quality, and accuracy once delivered. You will receive an email to arrange a time to pickup your Order from Sara Lassiter Photography Home-Studio. Please see the Print + Product Order Production Timeframe below for more specifics based on the items you ordered.
- ORDER COMPLETE: Once your order is complete and ready to pickup, you will receive an email to arrange a time to pickup your Order from Sara Lassiter Photography Home-Studio.

SESSION STATUS TIMEFRAMES...
- Sneak Peek images are posted within 1 week following the session.
- Online Proofing Galleries are posted approximately 10-14 business days following the session, and are active for 30 days for you to make your image selections and Final Product Purchase Order.
- Your Session will be added to my Editing List once you have placed your Order from your Online Proofing Gallery. Your selected images will be edited in line with other Client Orders (by Order Date).
- The Editing Timeframe is approximately 8-10 weeks, from the date you place your online Order. This timeframe does fluctuate based on when you choose to place your order from your Online Proofing Gallery, my current workload and session schedule, "busy seasons" like weddings or baby booms, etc. Total turnaround time is approximately 10-12 weeks (*if you place your order shortly after your Proofing Gallery is posted).
- Weddings and other similar events take a minimum of 12 weeks from Session/Event date.

PRINT + PRODUCT ORDER : PRODUCTION TIMEFRAMES...
ALL PRINT & PRODUCT ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED TO SARA LASSITER PHOTOGRAPHY HOME-STUDIO DIRECTLY! This allows me to ensure your order meets the high quality standards I have for my clients and their Prints/Products. Once items have been received and checked for quality and accuracy, you will receive an email to arrange a time to pickup your order in person.
- Basic Print Orders and Print Package Orders (containing ONLY Prints) - take approximately 5-7 business days to arrive to Sara Lassiter Photography Home-Studio - (once images have been finalized and order placed with Print-Lab)
- Canvas Orders, Wall Art Orders, and Print Packages containing Canvases (and other Large Printed Products) - take a minimum of 14+ business days to Sara Lassiter Photography Home-Studio - (once images have been finalized and order placed with Print-Lab)
- Custom Orders: Photo Books, Photo Albums, Baby Books, Special Order Items, etc. - timeframes vary based on specific items ordered, but usually take a minimum of 14-21 business days (please email me for more specific information prior to ordering)
All images and orders are processed during my normal office hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...
Editing takes time, sometimes a lot of time! To help you understand the reason behind the timeframe a little more, consider this: an average 6-8 hour wedding takes at least 120-140 hours to complete, sometimes longer. Please be patient. I know that waiting for your images is hard (I've been a client too, and I know that waiting is the hard part), but please understand how much time and work goes into your session and every session. Session scheduling and planning, the actual session, backing up your images, editing sneak peeks and proofing galleries, placing orders AND OF COURSE FINAL EDITING! I work diligently to get your sessions back to you as soon as possible, however, I have always said, and will always promise, that I will never rush editing sessions just to be able to deliver them to you sooner. You, my clients, schedule, purchase, expect, and deserve only the best images from me and that is what I am going to deliver- MY BEST!
I hope that this list will help alleviate the wondering "when will they be ready" by being able to track the status of your session anytime you wish.
Anticipated editing wait times are discussed multiple times throughout the process: • timeframes are listed on my website • discussed during initial communication • listed on the retainer invoice PRIOR to booking • discussed again on the portrait agreement (which must be completed along with retainer payment, to book and schedule a session) • discussed again at the session itself • and sent after your session (with log-in information to this page). If there is a specific timeframe/event you are wanting your images back for, please communicate PRIOR to booking so we can discuss if the deadline is reasonably possible. Remember, booking early, when there is a special event/occasion you want your images back for is crucial, especially during high-volume times throughout the year. Rush editing fees may apply in these circumstances, as sessions will have to be outsourced.
